Mary: This is Mary Walden with economist MW welcoming you to the economic perspective. Today’s program asks, what is the real corporate income tax rate?  Mike, there will likely be an intense debate in the country this year about taxes.  One of the parts of the debate will be over the corporate income tax rate.  Some say it is too high and makes our country non-competitive with other countries with lower rates.  But others say the official rate is far above the rate corporations actually pay.  Please explain.
