Reynolds seeks FDA approval to market tobacco product as having 'modified risk'

Winston-Salem-based Reynolds American Inc. said Monday that the company has submitted applications to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration seeking approval to identify six styles of its smoke-free Camel Snus tobacco product as having a "modified risk." David Howard, spokesman for Reynolds, (NYSE:RAI) said that submitting the applications was "just the first step" in a very lengthy process.
