(SC) Sweet potato quarantine lifted

South Carolina’s Ag Commissioner Hugh Weathers is pleased to announce that part of the 20+ year old sweet potato quarantine has been lifted in two South Carolina counties. In the early 1990’s North Carolina declared an exterior quarantine on sweet potatoes coming from Beaufort, Charleston and Colleton Counties due to a weevil pest on sweet potatoes in those counties.  In 2004 Clarendon and Florence were added to the quarantine.
