A bill introduced by a pair of Eastern North Carolina representatives would curb the amount of the state’s energy portfolio that must come from renewable sources by 2021, drawing criticism from environmental organizations. House Bill 267, which has been referred to the House Committee on Energy and Public Utilities, revises the renewable energy and energy efficiency standards (REPS) introduced in 2007.
