Yarn production plant to close, laying off 97 workers

An official at a Williamston plant which specializes in yarn production for apparel says the facility is shutting down, putting nearly 100 people out of a job.  Local media outlets report Parkdale Mills says it will shut down the plant on June 10. 
Lee Thomas, Parkdale vice president for human resources, says the company is consolidating locations and the Williamston plant will close to lower costs.
