The Swine Health Information Center is focused on monitoring emerging diseases. Dr. Paul Sundburg leads SHIC and says this effort is also designed to help the industry prepare for those diseases… “That’s especially focusing on trans-boundary or emerging diseases.  Now, 'trans-boundary’ means those that can come from other countries.  But, the Center doesn’t really focus on foot-and-mouth, Classical Swine Fever, "
