The charitable arm of Duke Energy is contributing $50,000 to Bat Conservation International to help endangered bat species facing major threats such as White-nose syndrome, a fungal disease.The company’s interest in preserving bat species grow out of efforts in its Duke Energy Renewables division to operate its wind farms in as safe a way as possible for bat and bird populations.
