Cotton growers avoiding PRE herbicide injury but it’s tricky

Cotton planters are hitting fields as weather and soil conditions permit. PRE herbicides are essential tools in cotton weed programs today, but keeping them from injuring young cotton can be tricky.It’s too early to tell how much potential injury cotton growers will get this planting season, but seedling injury is something growers have learned to deal with, or accept, as herbicide programs developed in recent years to manage resistant weeds require pre-emergence herbicide activity.
