Nash Produce sweet potato exports to double in packing and sizing in 2017

Nash Produce, which can store more than three million bushels of sweet potatoes year-round in climate-controlled facilities, plans to double its packing and sizing capacity for the 2017 harvest, according to Laura Hearn, marketing director. North Carolina is the largest U. S. grower of sweet potatoes, with more than half of the nation’s production.Hearn credits the large chain restaurants for much of the growth in production and sales since 2006.
