Cheerwine gets formal honor in Congress

North Carolina’s popular cherry-flavored soda got an official shout-out in the U.S. House of Representatives this week as it celebrates its 100th anniversary. U.S. Rep. Ted Budd introduced a formal resolution honoring Cheerwine on Wednesday. The Republican’s district includes Salisbury, where the beverage was created in 1917.
