Board of Agriculture will meet May 24 in Raleigh

The N.C. Board of Agriculture will hold its quarterly meeting Wednesday, May 24, at 2 p.m. in the Martin Building at the N.C. State Fairgrounds.

The board will take up the following items:
• Approve rules allowing the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to add new tests to its suite of agronomic testing services. 
• Continue the periodic review of rules administered by the department. State law requires agencies to analyze and determine the continued necessity of their rules. 

About the Board of Agriculture
The Board of Agriculture is a policymaking body that adopts regulations for many of the programs administered by the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Members are appointed by the governor. The commissioner of agriculture serves as chairman of the board.
