CHICKEN EGGS
South Atlantic Region: : Broiler-Type eggs in incubators on April 1, 2017 totaled 255,425,000. Te total was up 2% from the April 2016 total of 250,638,000 eggs.The total number of Egg-Type eggs in incubators on April 1 was down 2% from
5,033,000 in 2016 to 4,946,000 in 2017.

ON FARM HAY STOCKS
On farm hay stocks totaled 260,000 tons as of May 1, 2017, unchanged from the May 1, 2015 total.

WINTER WHEAT
Winter wheat production in North Carolina is expected to total 20.4 million bushels for 2017, up 40% from the 14.6 million bushels produced in 2016. Yield per acre at 51 bushels is up 10 bushels per acre from last year’s estimate of 41.
