Early-planted corn tassling in the Carolinas

While NC State Extension Corn Specialist Dr. Ron Heiniger urged farmers to wait to plant corn this year, some did not, and in some cases that corn survived a wide range of weather issues, including a late frost.  Today, Heiniger talks about that early-planted corn:“There are some fields that are showing some tassling, some fields that were planted the 10th, the 12th of April, or earlier are starting to reach tassle stage."
