The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service will co-host a public meeting with the Food and Drug Administration's Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to discuss strategies on improved information sharing and coordination during multi-jurisdictional food-borne outbreak investigations.

The public meeting will be held on Thursday, May 15, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Renaissance St. Louis Grand and Suites Hotel, 800 Washington Avenue, St. Louis, Mo., 63101.

FSIS said the meeting is necessitated by the increasingly complex U.S. food supply in which food-borne illness investigations often involve multiple agencies and jurisdictions.

Individuals are encouraged to pre-register to attend the meeting via the FSIS Web site. The agenda and other related information will be available prior to the meeting on the FSIS Web site.
