USDA seeks stakeholder input on GMO labeling rule

USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) has posted a list of 30 questions it is asking stakeholders to consider as it collects public input for drafting a rule to implement the GMO labeling law signed nearly a year ago. Meat and poultry are subject to a bioengineered disclosure only if they are the predominant ingredient, or the second most predominant ingredient when the first is broth or a similar solution. AMS seeks input on how it should determine predominance of ingredients.
