A federal appeals court has upheld a $28 million verdict against R.J. Reynolds, a subsidiary of Winston-Salem-based Reynolds American. The opinion was issued on July 7 by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, on appeal from the U.S. District Court in Connecticut.
