United States hog inventory up 3 percent

As of June 1, there were 71.7 million hogs and pigs on U.S. farms, up 3 percent from June 2016, and up 1 percent from March 1, 2017, according to the Quarterly Hogs and Pigs report published June 29, 2017 by USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS).
