A shift in Brunswick County’s stance on offshore drilling may have been portended by an elected Republican’s rare visit to the headquarters of the county’s Democratic Party. Brunswick County Commissioner Mike Forte visited the Bolivia headquarters in April to give a state of the county speech. Afterward, as he went to the parking lot, Oceana organizer Randy Sturgill chased the commissioner down to learn his stance on offshore drilling.
