Secretary of State Elaine Marshall announced Thursday that she was married in a ceremony Saturday in Raleigh to Jesse Thomas “Tommy” Bunn, a retired tobacco cooperative executive. Marshall, 71, is the first woman elected to statewide office in North Carolina and the longest-serving member of the Council of State.
