OFF FARM GRAIN STOCKS
Off farm grain stocks reported for soybeans totaled 7,066,000 as of June 1. Tis was 4% from the 7,328,000
bushels reported during the same quarter last year.


CHICKEN EGGS
South Atlantic Region: Broiler-Type eggs in incubators on June 1, 2017 totaled 257,628,000. Te total was up 1% from the June 2016 total of 254,428,000 eggs. Te total number of Egg-Type eggs in incubators increased
6% from 4,728,000 on June 1, 2016 to 5,026,000 eggs on June 1, 2017.

SOWS FARROWING
North Carolina producers intend to farrow 465,000 sows during the June–August 2017 and 460,000 during the September–November 2017 quarters.

PIG CROP
Te State’s pig crop during the March–May 2017 period totaled 4.7 million head, down 3% from the same period last year. Tese pigs were produced by 470,000 sows.

PIGS PER LITTER
Te number of pigs saved per litter averaged 10.0, which is down from the 10.25 pigs saved during the same quarter last year.

HOGS & PIGS
Hogs and pigs on North Carolina farms June 1, 2016 totaled 9.0 million head, down 2% from March 1, 2017.
