Four major poultry trade associations are collaborating for the first time on a seminar designed to address topics and challenges associated with poultry and egg operations, the groups announced in a joint news release. The U.S. Poultry & Egg Assn. (USPOULTRY), National Chicken Council (NCC), National Turkey Federation (NTF) and United Egg Producers (UEP) said the seminar is scheduled for Sept. 19-20 in Nashville.
The agenda topics will include animal rights issues, welfare audits, bird welfare, consumer-driven challenges for the poultry industry and the impact on the bottom line, the groups said.
Breakout sessions also will cover topics specific to the broiler, turkey and egg segments of the industry while providing networking and knowledge exchange opportunities among industry professionals.
USPOULTRY is expected to manage the conference’s logistics of the 2017 Live Production, Welfare & Biosecurity Seminar as the group formerly served as sole sponsor of the gathering. Additional information is available here.
