As an 8-year-old, Amy Adams knew the Marine Fisheries guys kept a frozen rattlesnake in their freezer at the headquarters of the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). Her farther worked in the department’s Division of Water Quality, so Adams roamed the halls while dad worked. She came to understand that her father and the others who worked in the department she walked past as a child were there to protect North Carolinians. For more of this story, click here.
