Mary:  This is Mary Walden with economist MW welcoming you to the economic perspective.  Today’s program looks at the energy transition. Mike, futurists are agreed that the country as well as North Carolina will see a major shift in the future in how we obtain energy.  Specifically, fossil fuel based sources, like coal and oil, will decline in usage while renewable sources such as solar, wind, and biomass will increase.  But will this transition be smooth?
