Mary:  I’m Mary Walden, with economist MW, welcoming you to the economic perspective.  Today’s program looks at potential job losses from offshoring and automation.  Mike, the globalization of the economy and the development of amazing technology have brought a set of pluses and minuses for workers.   Focusing on the minus side, globalization has moved many domestic jobs to foreign countries.  Also, modern technology has automated many jobs and reduced the need for human workers.
