In the latest drought monitor released by the Drought Mitigation Center for conditions through Tuesday morning, North Carolina’s abnormally dry conditions abated some, falling from 35.28% to 27.81%.  The area of shrinkage is largely from east to west, and from the north.  The majority of the Piedmont remains in abnormally dry conditions.
