National Pork Producers has been advocating a foot and mouth disease vaccine bank to be funded in the next farm bill.  With congress in recess until after Labor Day, farm bill listening sessions are taking place all over the country, and Dr. Doug Meckes, North Carolina State Veterinarian explains that North Carolina has an important stake in this vaccine bank:
“Well, it certainly is a top priority, not only for the swine industry, but for the animal ag industry as a whole, for those animals susceptible to the disease."
