Source: Rhonda Garrison, SOUTHERN FARM NETWORK, 8/22/17 North Carolina’s Ag Commissioner, Steve Troxler has had the goal for several years to boost the state’s ag economy to $100 million, annually. The next step in reaching that goal is food processing and manufacturing. In this year’s legislative session, the General Assembly provided funding to create the Food Processing Innovation Center to be located at the North Carolina Research Campus in Kannapolis.
