The National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) and U.S. Poultry & Egg Association (USPOULTRY) are applauding the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Colombia Circuit’s decision last week to delay until Nov. 14 the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) air emissions reporting rule.

The three-month stay resulted from an EPA motion requesting time that would allow the agency to develop guidance to help farms address measuring emissions of ammonia into the air from decomposing animal waste.

The court has said further delay beyond Nov. 14 is possible.
NPPC and USPOULTRY filed briefs in support of the EPA motion.
