Consumers demand organic fresh produce options

Organic fresh produce accounted for $1.25 billion dollars in sales at the end of the Q2 2017, an 8 percent increase in dollars and a 10 percent rise in volume from 2016, according to the Organic Produce Network. Partnering with Nielsen, OPN's review of second quarter organic fresh produce sales at retail stores across the United States shows dollar sales of organic fresh vegetables were $608 million while organic fresh fruit sales were $425 million.
