How some corner stores are bringing fresh produce to 'food deserts'

Bins are full of bright green bell peppers, shiny cucumbers, fuzzy peaches and vibrant red tomatoes, all from area farms. It sounds like a local farmers market, but the bins are inside Jayden Grocery & Deli in Allentown. The small family-owned store is in an area of Allentown considered a “food desert” — an urban area where it is difficult to buy fresh food.
