A North Carolina House member drawn into the same district as a Republican colleague during the latest remapping says he'll run instead for the Senate next year.  Rep. Carl Ford of Rowan County announced Tuesday he would seek the seat in the redrawn 33rd Senate District, where no senator currently lives.
