After bid process, county commissioners circle back to Duke Energy for solar farm

After a months-long process, the company that first proposed a solar farm on Buncombe County's former landfill has been selected to lead the project. Duke Energy's bid was unanimously selected by county commissioners Tuesday, allowing for staff to begin negotiations with the Charlotte-based company to build a solar farm on top of roughly 30 acres of a closed landfill in Woodfin.
