Winning administration’s support key for new cotton program

Garnering and maintaining congressional support for the FY2018 ag appropriations bill will be important, but members also need to reach out to the administration for help in making the legislation a reality. Rep. Robert Aderholt, chairman of the House Ag Appropriations Subcommittee, says those efforts need to focus, in particular, on Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue and Mick Mulvaney, former congressman from South Carolina who now is director of the White House Office of Management and Budget.
