A new North Carolina cookbook offers readers a taste of the farm. “The Farmhouse Chef: Recipes and Stories From My Carolina Farm” (UNC Press, $35) is written by Jamie DeMent, who co-owns Coon Rock Farm outside of Hillsborough with her partner Richard Holcomb. The 55-acre farm helps supply the couple’s restaurant, Piedmont Restaurant in Durham, and its produce business, Bella Bean Organics. For more of this story, click here.
