The General Assembly on Thursday overrode Gov. Roy Cooper's veto on a wide-ranging regulatory reform bill that environmentalists had targeted largely over storm water concerns. The House voted 70-42 to void Cooper's veto on Senate Bill 16. The Senate vote was 31-15. Both were party-line decisions in favor of the Republican majority, save for state Rep. William Brisson, D-Duplin, who crossed the aisle to oppose Cooper's veto. For more of this story, click here.
