North Carolina’s abnormally dry conditions expand

In the latest drought monitor released Thursday by the Drought Mitigation Center, North Carolina’s abnormally dry conditions expanded last week from 15.73% of the state in abnormally dry conditions to almost 36%.  The area of expansion is across the northern Piedmont, including a small portion of the northern Coastal Plain, as well westward, beyond I-85.
