While Gov. Roy Cooper voiced opposition this week to replacing judicial elections with an appointment system, he supported the switch as a state senator 22 years ago.Legislators have indicated they're considering a judicial appointment system as well as a House bill redrawing district court and superior court districts, and further discussion will come during a January special session.
