DWR public hearings

The N.C. Division of Water Resources is holding a public comment period and two more public hearings in October to receive input on proposed revisions to their non-discharge wastewater rules. These rules include animal operations (swine, dairy, and poultry with liquid waste systems) and manure haulers. DWR is proposing to incorporate some existing General Permit conditions into the rules, but as of now, there are no major changes of concern. The hearings are scheduled as follows:

Both hearings begin at 6 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. The public comment period will remain open until Nov. 22. Written comments may be submitted to 15ANCAC2T2URule_Comments@ncdenr.gov; or, they can be mailed to:
