Skies do not dampen MumFest

Overcast skies and a light drizzle early Saturday morning didn’t dampen this year’s MumFest. By noon the streets downtown were packed, music blared from different venues and the aroma of Italian sausages and jumbo turkey legs filled the air.
About 290 vendors and more than 100,000 people were expected for the three-day event, which is New Bern biggest showcase.
