In his 2018 budget proposal, President Donald Trump proposed a cut of more than $190 billion to SNAP – the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program – in the next 10 years. In a country where fast and fattening food is nearly always the easier and cheaper option, SNAP provides a much-needed supplement to provide healthier diets to more than 42 million Americans.
