Chris Humphrey, former Lenoir County commissioner and small business owner who just stepped into the political arena as a candidate to represent N.C. House District 12, said he recognizes the need for effective leadership in Raleigh that serves the needs of eastern North Carolina. Humphrey, 47, owner of Chris Humphrey insurance agency, an exclusive agent for Allstate Insurance, said too often, big cities like Raleigh and Charlotte overshadow smaller, rural communities.
