Our Opinion: County leaders stand up for residents stuck in gas pipeline’s path

In a symbolic but still significant move, the county Board of Commissioners met Tuesday to sign off on a resolution expressing concerns about the Atlantic Coast Pipeline following a groundswell of public opposition to the project. Spearheaded by Virginia-based Dominion Energy, North Carolina’s Duke Energy and Piedmont Natural Gas, the ACP is a proposed 600-mile natural gas pipeline that will begin in West Virginia and pass through Virginia and North Carolina. Its route extends 12 miles through western Wilson County.
