Farmers report only minor damage; Power outages remain

Nearly 2,000 Duke Energy customers in Henderson County were still without power Tuesday evening as emergency personnel and homeowners cleaned up from Monday’s heavy rainfall. By 8 p.m., that number had finally dropped to about 520 outages.
The rain did only minor damage to apples and other crops, with farmers more concerned about washed out roads and delayed harvesting.
