N.C. regulators approved an adjustment to charges for customers of Charlotte-based Piedmont Natural Gas in the state that will see a typical customer’s average winter bill go up $2.50, starting Wednesday. The N.C. Utilities Commission, at its regular Monday meeting, also approved a cut in the fuel “benchmark price” PSNC Energy charges to customers, reducing a typical customer's monthly bill by about $2.20.
