Brunswick County Commissioner Pat Sykes will announce Thursday her intention to challenge N.C. Rep. Frank Iler, R-Brunswick, in a Republican primary for a seat Iler has held since 2009.Reached Monday, Sykes declined to answer any questions about her run against Iler, who said Monday he intends to seek re-election.
