The House Rules Committee voted Tuesday evening to advance the Resilient Federal Forests Act of 2017, H.R. 2936 (115), with a structured amendment process and offer an equal amount of time between the Natural Resources and Agriculture committees for debates on the House floor. Both committees previously advanced the bill, which aims to address fire-borrowing, streamline environmental review processes and minimize legislation related to the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management.
