Four supervisors at House of Raeford's Greenville, S.C., poultry processing plant were arrested on Tuesday as part of the continuing Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigation into alleged immigration infractions, according to the Charlotte Observer.

ICE officials believed they found false information on employment records at the plant, prompting the arrests. What's more, warrants have been issued for an additional six House of Raeford supervisors, and officials expect to arrest those individuals soon.

Earlier this month, reports surfaced that ICE officials were investigating House of Raeford following visits to former plant supervisors in locations as far away as Puerto Rico.
House of Raeford has come under increased scrutiny in recent months following a Charlotte Observer series on working conditions at the company's plants. In the series, some 42 of 52 former and current Latino workers interviewed said they were illegally in the United States.

Following those allegations, House of Raeford said in a statement, "We have policies and programs in place that follow federal requirements for verifying the eligibility of job applicants."

The four men arrested on Tuesday were charged with offenses such as using false documents, making false statements to a federal agency, aggravated identity theft and false use of a Social Security number.
