What lies beneath? That’s the question that James Kapetsky sought to answer about the fish and shellfish habitat in Eagles Island’s former tidewater rice fields. Eagles Island lies between the Brunswick and Cape Fear rivers, immediately across from downtown Wilmington. The retired United Nations senior fishery resources officer presented his findings to the Senior Men’s Club of Wilmington on Oct. 20.
