One month left for Congress to fund key food and agriculture programs

Congress has less than one month left to pass a final funding bill to keep the government’s doors open beyond December 8. If Congress cannot agree how to reconcile the differences between the House and Senate appropriations bills (including funding for key agriculture, food, and rural development programs), Congress will need to again extend 2017 funding levels – either for the full 2018 fiscal year or for a few additional days, weeks, or even months, to buy itself a bit more time to negotiate a deal...
