Greensboro-based yarn company Unifi, Inc. on Tuesday announced a new goal to recycle 30 billion plastic bottles by 2022.
The company it building up to that number after achieving a recent milestone of recycling more than 10 billion plastic bottles. Unifi is targeting 20 billion bottles recycled by 2020 and 30 billion bottles by 2022. It's all part of a larger mission to grow Unifi's Repreve brand yarn and flake, which is made from recycled plastic bottles and used in everything from car interiors to NFL caps.
